BRADDOCK FOOD MANUFACTURING & COLD STORAGE FACILITY
NAIOP Pittsburgh 2020 Industrial Build-to-Suit Winner
This 58,045 sf Braddock facility was constructed in 2020 for a robotic vertical farming company that ceased operations in 2022. The facility has highly specialized food production and cold storage infrastructure with technology that includes specialized refrigeration, HVAC an oversized power loads.
The Project is located in Braddock, Pennsylvania, a Federal Opportunity Zone and a designated Food Desert.
Through the investment and partnership with Arctaris Impact Investors and RDC, the Project will move forward with the conversion of the facility to specialty manufacturing. The partnership is currently talking with several tenants that all would create 50 to 100 new jobs. These companies are a combination of local growing companies and companies moving to Allegheny County to take advantage of the facility.
In 2020, RDC won the distinguished “Industrial Build-to-Suit” project of the year sponsored by NAIOP Pittsburgh. This was also the first Federal Opportunity Zone project in Western Pennsylvania.
